If you choose the Technical University of Liberec for your academic exchange in the charming Czech city of Liberec, you'll most likely be housed at KOLEJE TUL, the university's official student residence.

What is KOLEJE TUL?

KOLEJE TUL is a well-organized residential complex composed of six buildings, each with eight floors, designed to accommodate hundreds of students. Both Czech and international students are welcomed here, sharing the same living conditions, rights, and responsibilities.

Each building is equipped with two elevators, ensuring easy access for students and staff alike. Dormitories are arranged in blocks, with each block consisting of:

• Three twin rooms

• A shared, fully equipped kitchen

• A bathroom

• Two toilets

Additional facilities include a laundry room in each building with five washing machines and one dryer, and cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, irons, ironing boards) available for rent at the reception. Bedsheets and duvet covers are provided by the staff and replaced every two weeks.

KOLEJE TUL also features a large free parking area, ideal for students who come by car, and two on-site gyms — a real bonus for those who enjoy staying active.

Services and Student Life

The campus-like setup of KOLEJE TUL includes various amenities such as restaurants and vending machines, ensuring students have easy access to essentials. You'll find:

• Several restaurants serving both Czech and international dishes

• A variety of bars and clubs, including:

• Hard Club :  featuring two foosball tables and a wide range of beverages

• S-Club : combining a restaurant, bowling alley, and bar

• Zanzibar : known for its large dance floor

• The Student Club : offering a relaxed atmosphere with a pool table

ESN-Organized Cultural Evenings

A key highlight of life at KOLEJE TUL is the vibrant student life fueled by weekly events organized by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Liberec. Every Tuesday, a student or group presents their home country and culture in the residence amphitheater. That same person or group then hosts a themed party on Thursday, often acting as DJ. These evenings create a dynamic intercultural atmosphere and unforgettable Erasmus memories.
