Part 2 : A Visit to Liberec Zoo
During my Erasmus stay in Liberec, I had the opportunity to visit the Liberec Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1919, it is well known for its commitment to conservation and the preservation of endangered species. This visit was a perfect way to discover the natural beauty of the region and learn more about wildlife.
Exploring the Zoo
As I entered the zoo, I was immediately impressed by its modern yet natural design. The entrance, with its large windows and artistic representation of animal fur patterns, set the tone for an immersive experience. The zoo is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful and natural environment for both the animals and visitors.
One of the highlights of my visit was seeing the white tigers, which are among the rarest animals in the world. Liberec Zoo is famous for being the only zoo in the Czech Republic to house these majestic creatures. Watching them relax and interact was a truly fascinating experience. Their white fur with black stripes made them look incredibly unique and powerful.
Another amazing section of the zoo was the savanna area, where I saw giraffes, zebras, and antelopes living together in a spacious enclosure designed to resemble their natural habitat. I was very happy to be in front of these many animals tha i had never seen before. The way the zoo replicates different ecosystems is impressive, as it allows visitors to feel as if they are stepping into the animals' real environment
The Memorable Learning Experience
What made the visit even more special was learning about the zoo's role in wildlife conservation. The zoo participates in various breeding programs and educational initiatives to raise awareness about endangered species. I appreciated how the enclosures were designed to prioritize animal welfare, with plenty of space and natural elements.
Overall, my visit to Liberec Zoo was an unforgettable experience. It was not only a fun day out but also an educational journey that deepened my understanding of wildlife conservation. If you ever visit Liberec, I highly recommend spending a day at this wonderful zoo—you won't be disappointed!
